In 1966 Claus Wedel had a vision; being of Scandinavian extraction he believed that it should be possible to develop a trading relationship with Sweden and other Scandinavian countries, in the supply of sawn timber products to the merchant trade in the UK.
Starting as a Timber Agent from a site at Pottersgate in Norwich, the business soon expanded and a few years later moved to new premises at Felixstowe in Suffolk. The company had by then progressed to buying shipments in its own name, subsequently developing its own shipping department to ensure continuity and security of supply.
Today Anglo Norden operates out of the Port of Ipswich, operating its own terminal facilities, discharging regular shipments from their own chartered vessels, storage in a purpose built warehouse on the quay with full reloading and stock management services.
