Regional Focus: London & South East Timber Trade Association (LSETTA)

The London and South-East Timber Trade Association (LSETTA) is one of six UK associations made up of members of the Timber Trade Federation. All regional associations are managed by committees and are all self-funded. Any TTF Member can join one or more regional association for a small additional annual fee. All members of the TTF are committed to trading only in legally sourced timber as a minimum requirement. It is a condition of TTF membership that all member companies conduct annual audited due diligence surveys on all their supply sources to ensure this is the case. This is done using either the TTF’s own due diligence tool, the Responsible Purchasing Policy, or the members own externally audited approved due diligence system.

About LSETTA

LSETTA was a thriving association until a few years ago when it sadly lapsed. The committee was re-formed and the association was re-branded and relaunched in 2016 and it has gone from strength to strength 20 members covering all aspects of the timber trade as well as associated sectors. We hold regular members’ meeting to discuss trade and issues relating to the timber industry and also various social events, and an annual dinner in London.

Aims

The aims of LSETTA is to give TTF Members in the London & South-East region a platform to meet and discuss the issues that affect their business, particularly in their area, and to enable them to engage and network with others in the industry through our regular meetings and events. We also aim to represent our members’ interests at local and national level, with an emphasis on National & European timber industry standards, political changes that might affect our industry, and to actively promote environmental policies and standards aligned to the UK timber trade. In addition, to safeguard the longer term interest of our industry, both locally and nationally through the Associations pro-active profile.

Membership

Any member of the Timber Trade Federation is able to join the LSETTA for an annual fee of £150. This includes free entrance to all LSETTA meetings (includes lunch) and an annual special members’ lunch when it’s possibly to invite your guests.
